Air Classifier

This air classifier is a standalone dry grading unit customized for kaolin processing, commonly paired with ceramic ball mills. Fineness is controlled via stepless turbine speed. It sorts fine qualified kaolin powder and oversized agglomerates by centrifugal force, producing narrow PSD finished kaolin with stable performance for coating, rubber and electronic fillers.

How It Works

Technical breakdown of the core processes and technology behind Air Classifier.

Crushed kaolin mixed powder is transported into the grading chamber via air conveying pipeline. Secondary regulating air feeds from the lower side to form steady swirling airflow suspending kaolin flakes evenly.

The central high-speed turbine wheel creates strong centrifugal field. Fine, thin kaolin particles follow airflow through blade gaps and go to cyclone & bag collectors as finished products. Thick agglomerated kaolin chunks gain large centrifugal inertia, hit the chamber wall, slide down and return to the grinding host for re-crushing.

Adjusting turbine speed and auxiliary air volume changes cut point, precisely controlling kaolin fineness and reducing oversize particles to meet different filler grade standards.

Horizontal Turbine Classifier — High-Precision Ultrafine Type

Designed for high-end ultrafine kaolin below D97 6μm. Single-side air intake and cantilever-mounted classifier wheel deliver sharp particle cut point with minimal oversized residue, stably producing submicron narrow-distribution powder for electronic, cosmetic and other high-purity high-value applications.
